Must haves for your bridal touch up bag
When you have your wedding makeup applied professionally, you should expect a long wear time. My job is to ensure you have the best suitable products for your skin type and to have a flawless look. However, makeup doesn’t like Tampa wedding day humidity, appreciate tears of joy, or a Taylor Swift dance break- sadly. You may choose to book your makeup artist to stay for touch-ups. This will ensure that you stay fresh & polished
What can you do if you start seeing signs of wear on your wedding day? Here are my suggestions for makeup dilemmas and the products you can rely on.
10 Must-Haves
1. Blotting Papers– Wait! Before you powder, remove the excess oil.
2. Lipstick & Lipgloss– My clients receive a touch up kit with their lip color. Have your lipstick, stain, gloss - the works!
3. Lip Liner– Lip liner will define and accentuate your lips. Make sure after your trial you ask your Makeup Artist what lipliner she used, then go buy it- trust me!
4. Powder– I’m pretty particular about which powders I use on clients in my kit. Avoid powders that have an SPF so you don’t get flash back in your photos. For a seamless touch up stick witheither a translucent loose pwder or a pressed powder with coverage. I would suggest either Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder, Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Setting Powder, and/or Natasha Denona HY-GLAM Powder Foundation.
5. Powder Puff- Puff vs Brush. The puff will give your skin more of a smoothing effect. Press gently across the skin, rather than rub or sweep to keep the makeup looking fresh.
6. Lash Adhesive/Glue– Your Makeup Artist will apply your false lashes during your bridal application, but it’s always a smart idea to bring along a glue with as a just in case.
7. Mints– Fresh, clean, and ready for that kiss.
8. Tissue & Q-tips– These are great to have in your touch up bag for happy tears, and remember dab don’t rub.
9. Eyeliner Pencil – Only necessary if you’ve opted for liner in your water-line. A quick retouch can vamp up the look.
10. Blush & Bronzer – At the end of the wedding I carve out time for the entire wedding party to get touch ups and these two items can freshen up a look instantly. Blush tends to fade quickly and a powdered bronzer can make your skin look healthy.
There you have it, my top tips for brides who would like to do makeup maintenance throughout the day. I’m not suggesting that you MUST, but if needed and wanted, now you know exactly what to do.
